Our performance mechanical brake shoes are the best stopping shoes on the market. Cast in Canada, manufactured in the USA, our shoes feature a proprietary pad material, pre-arched, rivet free, and redesigned castings for a brake that outperforms in stopping, control, and lifespan.

SB brake shoes are accurate reproductions of original Harley shoes and are designed to fit 1937-1957 style mechanical rear brake drums.

Paughco X Sugar Performance brake kits include a fit brake drum and shoes. No further work required, the only USA made drum and shoe on the market. Chrome drum, no backing plate included.

BRAKE ARCHING PLEASE READ
Brake arching refers to shaping the brake pad liner to the inner diameter of your brake drum. Arching ensures that the drum and shoe are separated until brake is applied, then allowing full contact between the shoe and the drum. Drum brakes do not expand evenly in a circle, so pre arch, shoe with pads will NEVER fit drums correctly due to the fact that when brakes are applied the shoes are not the same SHAPE or SIZE of the drum. Sugar performance shoes are the only shoes on the market that come pre arched to a Paughco style mechanical rear drum. They are cut out of the box to expand into round when brakes are applied. While they will fit in existing Paughco drums in shape, there are variations in manufacturer and age or drum that may require you to resize your shoes manually. Arching shoes to your specific drum will always result in the best stopping power. NEVER INSTALL A SET OF SHOES WITHOUT CHECKING FOR FITMENT.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Sugar Performance are the only manufacturers of a USA made brake shoe. Material matters, our reproductions of Harley's 1937-1957 shoes are cast from high strength ductile grey iron, machined in Felton CA.

While other shoe manufactures use cheap hydraulic based liners and materials, our shoes are lined in California with speciality brake pad material developed specifically for mechanical drums. This softer material replicates the original shoe liners Harley used in the factory.

Rivets create a weak spot prone to cracking in our competitors' shoes because its cheaper than the adhesives that modern shoes and brake pads use. Our castings and shoe liners are rivet free, meaning stronger, crack free shoes.
